About
We built the app we needed
and couldn't find.
A large outdoor event, sixty thousand people, one overloaded cell tower. We spent two hours trying to find a friend — every messaging app failed the moment it mattered most. So we built something that didn't depend on the infrastructure that had just fallen over.
Values
What we believe
Communication is a utility, not a platform feature
Messaging shouldn't be contingent on a company's uptime, a government's approval, or a cell tower's capacity.
Privacy should be the default, not a setting
If you have to turn privacy on, most people never will. Private by default means private for everyone.
Resilience matters most when things go wrong
The things that break first in a crisis are the things you depend on most. Ndevar is built to work precisely when everything else fails.
You should own your identity
Your identity is a keypair generated on your device. It was yours before you created an account. It stays yours if you delete it.
We're a small team. No outside investors. No ads. We charge fairly for the parts that cost us money to provide — everything else is free.
