Sharing settings
Control exactly what your contacts can see about you.
Ndevar gives you fine-grained control over what you share with contacts. All sharing is opt-in.
Find these settings at Settings → Sharing.
Master sharing toggle
The master toggle controls all sharing at once.
Off (default): Contacts see only your shortAddress — an 8-character identifier with no name, photo, or other information attached.
On: The individual settings below take effect.
Share display name
When enabled, contacts see your chosen display name instead of just your shortAddress.
You set your display name at Settings → Identity → Display name.
Allow contact forwarding
When enabled, your shortAddress can be shared by your contacts with their contacts.
This is safe to enable. Your shortAddress alone is cryptographically useless — it cannot be used to impersonate you, decrypt your messages, or derive your private key. It only allows someone to send you a message.
Share location in messages
Adds a location attachment to messages you send.
With internet: Sent as a live location that updates for a configurable period.
Without internet: Sent as a compass bearing and distance from the recipient's position. Displayed as: "NNE · 340m away."
Location attachments are always per-message and require your explicit action to include.
